Hoshiarpur: Sanjeev Arora, a social worker and former president of the Hoshiarpur unit of the Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) was felicitated by the state council of the BVP at the state council meeting held here. The meeting was chaired by state president Prof SM Sharma.
National Chairman, Yashpal Gupta and National Secretary, BVP, Dr Anil Kalia were present. The annual reports of all branches related to the BVP Punjab West were assessed. The Hoshiarpur branch was adjudged as the best and its former president Sanjeev Arora was honoured with the Award of Excellence. Yashpal Gupta said today the council is successfully following the five point programme of social service. He said: “Sanjeev Arora and his team have an important contribution in establishing the institution which is the source of inspiration for all.
Other officials of the council congratulated Sanjeev Arora for achieving the distinction. State president Prof SM Sharma called upon the members of the council to make efforts to iradicate the social evils and save the youth from drugs.
Arora said as many as 117 projects related to social service were executed in two years. Projects were implemented from time to time by organising seminars.
